Gearing up for the busy season!

The snow hasn’t even melted yet and already artists on Cape Ann are looking to the start of the busy art season on Cape Ann. Artists and photographers are gearing up for upcoming shows and stocking up on fine art prints. So I thought I would review some of the wonderful options we have here at Cape Ann Giclee for artists and photographers for the upcoming busy season.

We print on a variety of media including –

Canvas – premium matte canvas and metallic canvas, our matte canvas is varnished with matte, satin or gloss varnishes to give you the custom finish you want. We can stretch it for you on genuine artists stretcher strips in 3/4″ or 1 1/2″ profiles or stretch it yourself.

Fine art papers – we offer smooth fine art in natural and bright white, Somerset Velvet has a water color paper texture, bamboo – an eco friendly alternative

Photo papers – we offer premium photo papers – matte, luster, gloss, platine, metallic

Specialty media – Phototec a reusable material that sticks right to the wall or any smooth surface and can be removed and repositioned as much as you want without damaging paint or wallpaper – Satin fabric a lightweight flowy media for wall hangings and many other applications

If you have a certain paper in mind that we don’t normally carry we are happy to special order the paper for you if you place an order that meets our special order minimum.

We also offer what we call Showbags – showbags come in 3 standard sizes – 8 x 10, 11 x 14 and 16 x 20 they can be matted or unmatted and consist of a fine art print on either photo paper or fine art paper, matte, backer board and bag. Showbags make it easy for artists to sell unframed prints and since the artwork is protected in archival acid free bags you don’t have to worry about the prints being handled and getting dirty.

Framing artwork for a show can be a daunting task as framing is expensive and often more than the cost of the print. We offer a couple of solutions – Poster Hangers are an easy quick way to hang multiple prints that is very cost effective and they come in a wide variety of sizes. Using Poster Hangers allows you to show large prints without worrying about framing costs.

Another solution for displaying prints are clip frames – these come in a large variety of sizes and consist of a backer, clips and glass or plexi front so for a fraction of the cost of framing you can have a polished and uniform look to your work.
